Day in, day out, we get news of insecurities and disasters from different sources. On the news, from the lips of those around us, even on social media. It's easy to get lost in the different stories of dangers that make the headlines each day. The world has so evolved that evil seems to be the new normal. Hence, we are constantly at risk of getting harmed by the environment, by strangers, even by people we know or trust. But here's the good news: in a world of insecurities and uncertainties, there's one thing we can be sure of. That is God's protection.

Spread across Scriptures are His promises to hide us under His wings as a hen hides her chicks. God isn't just able to protect us, He wants to do it. So whenever we are faced with situations that seem beyond our control, never underestimate what the power of prayer can do. God knows exactly what we need and when exactly we need it. So whenever you pray for protection, be it for yourself, your home, your children, parents, or simply the world, know that the Lord is listening and He will surely answer. Hence, we've collected some prayers for you to guide you in praying for God's protection.

Under the Protection of the Most High

Dear Father, Thank You for protecting me. Thank You for the angels that you assign to watch over me. I can be at peace today knowing that my very life is in Your hands. I want to live in the shadow of Your wings. When life is hard, and I don’t know what to do, help me remember that You are with me and that I am never alone. I cannot live without You. I cannot face tomorrow without the promise of Your presence. Today I choose to walk and live under the protection of You, The Most High. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer to Guard Against Spiritual Attacks

We know that the enemy wouldn’t be fighting so hard against us if we weren’t making a difference for your kingdom. He wouldn’t be trying so hard to stop us if he didn’t think you had so much good still in store. Remind us, today Lord, that the battle belongs to you, and whatever we’re up against can be taken down in one fell swoop by your mighty hand. Please help us to trust you more. Forgive us for the times we’ve neglected to set our eyes and hearts on you, and come to you first. Fill us with your wisdom and discernment to make us aware of the enemy’s traps, so we can stand strong against his schemes. Thank you for your constant reminders that your presence will go with us, in whatever we face, Amen.

Psalm 91 Prayer for Protection

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

A Prayer for Protection from Earthly Enemies

Lord, You know best what it means to be pursued by earthly enemies. And because of that, You know the harm we and our families face every day. As Christians and followers of You, we will be marked as enemies. Our children need protection from bullies, and from false philosophies that attack their spiritual heritage. Hold our loved ones tightly, Lord, and never let them go. Command Your angels, Lord, to keep us in all our ways, so that no harm or disaster will come near to us. Our trust is not in our ability but in Your stability as our El Shaddai. Our weapons of warfare are spiritual, and we look to You for victory. Show us when to speak up, to listen, and when to act, always aware that You are fighting our battles for us and with us. Teach us to resist evil in Your powerful name. We don’t fear those who might try to hurt us physically. Our fear is a holy, righteous reverence based on Who You are and Who we have become in You. And as long as You are with us, we fear no evil. In Your name, Amen.

Conclusion

Even today as we pray, let us anchor our faith on the reality of who we are in Christ and who we belong to. The King of Kings. Walk in the revelation that our Lord is in control.
