His Mercies Are New Every Morning

Jesus instructs in Matthew 18:22 that the believer should forgive each person seventy times seven times each day.

This means that with each new day, you’re to give 490 chances to err and be forgiven to every person you encounter. That’s an inexhaustible number of chances for each person.

This, of course, doesn’t mean that you should keep count every day. Jesus used this number intentionally to help believers understand that they are to constantly forgive and be gracious to people just as He is.
