Powerful Prayers to the Holy Spirit

In the Christian faith, the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity, along with God the Father and God the Son (Jesus Christ). The Holy Spirit is often described as the Comforter, the Advocate, and the Paraclete, and is understood to be the personification of God’s power and presence in the world.

It is also important to remember that praying according to the Holy Spirit involves listening as well as speaking. We should take time to be still and listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit, and to be receptive to any insights or guidance that the Holy Spirit may provide.

Dear Holy Spirit, as I come before you today, I ask for your guidance and inspiration in my life. I know that I am not able to navigate this world on my own, and I need your help to guide me along the right path. Please help me to discern your will for my life and to follow it with faith and courage. Grant me the wisdom and understanding to make good choices and to live a life that is pleasing to you. I ask for your comfort and strength in times of difficulty, and for your healing touch when I am in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Please fill me with your love, joy, and peace, and help me to share these gifts with those around me. Use me as an instrument of your grace and mercy in the world.

Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.

Dear Holy Spirit, I come before you today to ask for your guidance and strength in my life. Fill me with your power and presence, and help me to walk in your ways. Please give me wisdom to make good choices, courage to stand up for what is right, and faith to trust in your plan for my life.
Protect me from the snares of the enemy and the temptations of the world. Help me to resist all that is evil and to pursue all that is good. Please heal me from any wounds or brokenness in my heart, mind, or spirit. Renew my strength and give me a fresh sense of purpose and direction.
