Jesus Christ, you said “learn from me that I am patient and humble of heart”Grant me enough patience to endure long waits, adapt to unforeseen events, and tolerate what annoys me to live with my limits. Lord, some of Your people are hard to love. They can be moody, mean, difficult, and impossible to understand. They blame me for things I didn’t do and have expectations I can’t meet. Sometimes I wish You hadn’t put them in my life. I need You to show me how much You love them. Reveal what You see under the surface, where they’re hurting, and tell me how to make a difference. Thank you for giving me your patience to be kind and compassionate when I don’t have my own and for loving me when I’m the one who’s difficult in someone else’s life.

Father, I cry out in anguish before you. I know that what I am feeling today is nothing in comparison to how you felt as your Son died on the cross. Jesus, forgive me for my impatience and lack of understanding in this situation. Please help me to be mindful of the immense patience you portrayed for me in your suffering. Help me to be patient with others in their suffering, and patient as I wait for you to move in the midst of my own suffering. The pain experienced through this trial feels as if it’s too much to bear. Help me to remember that your burden is easy, and your yoke is light. Help me to believe that your timing is perfect and that all things come together for my good and your glory. Help me to rejoice amidst suffering and find my gladness in you. I know that suffering produces perseverance and sanctifies my soul. Help me to focus on you and what you want me to learn. I want to be faithful, despite my circumstances, to seek you and treasure you in all that I do and say. Amen.
